Multi-level marketing or MLM is also known as network marketing or referral marketing. This marketing strategy is used by many companies. MLM is designed to create sales force and marketing by paying the promoters of the company’s product for sales that they personally generate. They are also paid by the sales of other promoters that they introduced into the company.
All MLM companies claim to be the best, yet they cannot all be the best. The “best” is a subjective term. Just because one company has more people involved in the company, does that really make them better than another company? I don’t believe so, so in no particular order I will give you the top MLM companies. Every individual can make the decisions on what is the best company for them.
You will notice all of these companies have been around for 10 years. There have been thousands of MLM companies over the last 60 years, however only 50 of those companies have made it to their 10 year anniversary and are still in business. All of these companies have been a startup company at one point, so it’s not to say that just because a company isn’t 10 years old doesn’t mean that it won’t last to be.
The inspiration for Nikken was to energize people by fixing a common complaint of sore feet, that was 34 years ago and they are still going strong. Their products lines include environmental solutions, lifestyle solutions, and performance and rejuvenation.
50 years ago Amway opened its doors. They have over 3 million distributors selling their health and beauty products as well as products for your home. Who can argue with five decades of experience?
Herbalife is celebrating their 30 year anniversary. They offer products that help with nutrition, weight management, as well as personal care prouducts. They currently have approximately 1.9 million distributors and are located in 72 countries.
Nu Skin is the premier anti-aging company for direct selling. They have been around for 25 years. Last year, the company paid half a billion dollars in commission to their direct selling agents. The company is involved in Nourish the Children where you buy VitaMeal for Consumption that they then donate.
USANA was founded in 1992 by Dr. Myron Wentz. They offer top of the line health care products and are dedicated to quality. They also offer one of the highest payout percentages.
ACN was founded in 1993 and now operates in 20 countries. They provide digital phone service and high speed internet with video phone. They also provide satellite TV and home security.
Pre-Paid Legal has been offering legal services for over three decades. They provide legal counsel to their members for traditional legal problems as well as everyday things such as buying a house or creating a will for a low monthly fee.
You may notice that majority of these companies revolve in some way around health and wellness. This is because society as a whole is more concerned with their health than most other things. It is $1.5 trillion industry and is expected to have an addition $1 trillion spent in 2010. It’s definitely a great industry to be involved in.

Very nice blog… I personally believe that longevity is good. But remember they all started from somewhere. As an MLM business owner, I think you should a way to extract unfair advantage out of the balancing a brand new launch that looks promising for future. That gives you first mover advantage as well. But also you can capitalize on a company that's between 10-20 years. Focus on one opportunity at a time though unless you have a SOLID sales funnel.
